Dear Grandma,
Tonight we had our annual Halloween Dinner: dinner in a pumpkin. With your detailed notes and pictures :) mom was able to pull it off somewhat. Of course, not as good as you, but she is learning. Mom did say that it is hard work being you! We missed you at our "Boo-quet" table. Things will never be the same, we are just trying to adapt to a new "normal". Hopefully you got our balloons--next time we will sneak you some candy!
We Love You!
Forever and Always,
Jaxon, Justus, Jace, Jett
I know Natalie, I was guilty of spelling your mom's name wrong for a long time. I was never sure: Kandace or Kandice, so I took turns spelling it both ways. She never corrected me.
ReplyDeleteYour mom is missed so much by so many people. She was a true angel on earth. I copied one of the pictures from her blog and had it made into an 8 by 10 for my classroom.
I just want to let you know that your family is in our prayers daily. I think about you, Bo and your dad especially, everyday. We still hear her laughter in the halls at school and miss her dearly also.
Hey, do you need anything for Bo's wedding? Any help at all. We could even help serve or pick up and put away chairs or wash dishes or anything. My family and I would love to help in anyway we can. Melissa was actually my Physical Therapy aide after I had the muscles under my breasts removed. I think I met her before Bo, ha ha. Tell him I have one over him. I probably met her first. I am so happy to see the union of two such wonderful people. So awesome.
BATC decided to have a Christmas Social this year. Your mom and dad attended often, but if your dad is like my husband, he probably had to be made to go. Anyway, Butch Perry is the chair of the committee heading up the social. Your mom would get a kick out of this. Butch is sort of antisocial, but a wonderful man. Anyway, you dad's name came up in the meeting. We would like to invite him, and he could ride with us if he would like. We are in Hyde Park. We are also hoping to have a presentation of pictures and would like to have some of your mom. I have used some from her blogspot pictures as computer screensavers for my classroom, can we also use some of these pictures for our PowerPoint for the christmas social?
I miss your mom and Grandma Ruby. God Bless you and your family. I can only imagine how difficult this is for all of you and I also have to remember what your dad said. Don't ask why this happened, ask why you were so lucky. I have to think of this everyday and am so glad you shared this with us.
I talked to Mina Wood today. She still sheds tears when she speaks of your mom, next time she starts to cry, I will have to share what your dad shared with you about why we were so lucky to have had her instead of why did we have to say good bye early. Again you and your family are still in our prayers.
I bought a bonsai tree for myself when I finished all my chemo and radiation. When I heard of your mom passing, I also bought one in her honor as well as a Japanese maple to plant in the front yard. Bonsai's are really tempermental and hard to take care of, but their beauty is usually worth the effort. Do you think Bo might like this for a wedding gift or maybe one of you guys might like to have it. Just let me know sometime. No rush. I also have something for you.
I loved your mom. I think we were cry magnets. I could always let my guard down in front of your mom and she could also let her guard down in front of me at times. You all meant the world to her. I learned from her how to put my family first after my chemo. I had always put work ahead of my family until I got cancer, but no more because your mom helped me to get my priorities right and I don't even know that she helped me do this. She did more for me than she knows. I love watching your family on this site. Thanks for this also. You have an amazing strong family. I gain strength from your strength. Thank You. I also gained strength from your mom's strength. Peace and Love.
